Abstract: This dissertation aims to propose improvements to the decision process via the development of automation in the Employment Sector of a public university, using Robotic Process Automation, with a view to achieving the reallocation of teams from routine tasks to tactical and strategic functions and thus, obtain gains in efficiency, productivity and a reduction in errors. In the Brazilian scenario, the Federal Government has presented initiatives, since 2016, that support the trajectory of digital transformation in the Federal Public Administration. One of them was the institution of the Digital Governance Policy, with the offering of digital public services by bodies and entities of the direct, autonomous and foundational federal public administration, in accordance with Decrees N 8,638, of 01/15/2016 and N 8,936, of 19/12/2016. The implementation of RPA in public administration can provide operational efficiency, streamlining processes and reducing administrative costs. According to Law No. 4,320/64, still in force, to carry out the expenses foreseen in the public budget it is necessary to follow three stages: commitment, settlement and payment. The commitment process was selected, carried out in the Commitment Sector, linked to the Accounting and Finance Department, subordinated, at the last level, by the Planning and Budget Secretariat. The methodology consisted of seven steps, namely: defining the objective of automation; locate potential processes; validate options; establish governance; prepare a plan; run a pilot and implement the solution. Among the results are: 1) automation allows integration via Application Programming Interface with the Budgetary and Financial Resources Management System (SARF), an InfraSIG that helps manage administrative procedures relating to the university's financial and budgetary resources, developed in Centura, in the 1980s, is a desktop client for Windows. Now, the Application Programming Interface eliminates the need to simulate human actions to collect information from the administrative process. 2) automation was successful with 70% of the data mass executed in a first pilot, which demonstrates its potential in facilitating results management. Based on data obtained in 2023, in which there were 4,789 commitments, it would be possible to free up 3 servers and thusgain 229 hours, reducing operational costs and showing positive impacts, which justify the investment in this type of solution.
