Abstract: Politics is not something recent, quite the contrary, it has been thought about for a long time, therefore, what is important to highlight is that for each social group the meanings of this phenomenon are constructed differently. In this way, like any other group, groups in extreme exposure or social vulnerability, such as homeless people, also produce knowledge linked to different contents, and in this way, it would be no different in the context of the concept and peculiar practices of politics. From this, this research was dedicated to studying the phenomenon of politics in light of the Theory of Social Representations, understood as a study of a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory nature, in order to investigate the social representations of politics for people living on the streets. To this end, 18 people from the city of Florianópolis participated and data were collected through semi-structured interviews and a sociodemographic questionnaire, the interviews were transcribed in full, and thematic-categorical analysis was subsequently carried out using Bardin's content analysis technique, giving rise to 4 macro categories: social representations about politics, political experiences, political positioning and future of politics. The results found manifest multiple facets of the political phenomenon for the participants, which are expressed in the speeches of people living on the streets, and are internalized in such a way that they are not reflective of their social construction. An important highlight for research that develops as a space for active voice as a citizen for people living on the streets, in the form of seeking to understand their political positioning and their social representations about politics. Given the importance of the subject, it is necessary to develop other ways of identifying manifestations of policy content, as well as in other contexts and specific groups.
