Abstract: The Theater of the Oppressed problematizes, through theatrical practices developed by Bárbara Santos and based on the contributions of Augusto Boal, gender issues and other social markers of difference. It brings an intersectional debate to the theatrical scene, questioning sexist, racist, heteronormative logics, among other oppressive guidelines. The research carried out sought to investigate the ethical, aesthetic and political possibilities of this theatrical practice for the women who star in it. It was guided by the following objectives: to investigate the development of group practices; analyze the creative processes in the Theater of the Oppressed; understand what this theater can do in the interrelation with feminist and intersectional themes; and to problematize how art and life intersect in its theatrical method. For the development of the research, adopted the participation-observation of the activities of the Theater of the Oppressed groups in two Brazilian cities. In Rio de Janeiro, the research was carried out during the months of July and August 2019, through the International Residency Program of the Theatre of the Oppressed Center, which enabled the researcher to accompany and participate as a resident in the activities of three women`s groups: Madalenas-Rio; Marias do Brasil and Colectivo Madalenas-Anastácias. In Florianopolis, there was the immersion in the Theater of the Oppressed group Madalenas in Luta-SC in the condition of researcher-acting-participant, from March 2018 to December 2020. The information records were made by means of the field diary, recording of conversations-interviews, photographs and videos. Documents produced by the researched groups were also accessed and analyzed, such as videos and interviews available on digital platforms and social media. The analyzes were carried out based on Vygotsky, in Bakhtin Circle and feminist authors who discuss intersectionality. During the research it was found that, although women's groups are not exclusive to the Theater of the Oppressed, the creation of these groups based on gender specificity contributes to broaden the reflection andstrengthen important discussions about social issues by confronting values inherited from patriarchal, sexist, racist, heteronormative social logics, among others. It was also understood that in this theater it is possible to express significant and urgent aspects of the lives of the participants, putting on the scene memories, remembrances and individual, collective and ethical-political sufferings, aiming to transform them. Thus, the scenic processes of these groups contribute to generate a responsive posture to the reality presented, to the construction of strategies to confront the oppressions experienced, as well as to question universal, essentialist and generalizing forms of the representation of women. Finally, the analyzes performed in the research allowed us to affirm the thesis that, in the Theater of the Oppressed, the imagination and creation are closely related to the thought of other possible forms of political action that tension the oppressions experienced, providing ethical, aesthetics and political possibilities in the sphere of the lived
