|data=$a Abstract: Public security presentes itself as a fundamental pillar for stability and social well-being, requiring a commitment from public security intitutions, with results that ensure, reinforce and expand its relevance in the social contexto, a concern that is found in SENASP is an important facilitator, given its leading role in advising the MJSP, in exercising its powers within the scope of the Unified Public Security System (Susp), given its centrality. In this context, Knowledge Management (KM) emerges as an important strategic tool to increase the efficiency an quality of services provided, finding, in the research, the lack of a defined KM strategy on the part of SENASP. Therefore, the presente study aims to propose an action plan for implementing KM practices in the General Coordination of Policies for Public Security (CGISP), a unit the is parte of SENASP structure. The research adopted a qualitative approach based on a case study as an investigation method, collecting data through the application of a survey to assess the level of maturity in KM (APO Assessment Tool), interviews and bibliographical research. The assessment of KM at CGISP, using the APO Assessment Tool, revealed a level of maturity classified as « initiation ». The interviews, carried out with CGISP coordinators, provided additional insights into the strategic drivers, existing KM practices and critical and essential knowledge in the unit. Based on the data collected and analyzed, an action plan was formulated, based on the 5W2H methodology, to implement the following KM practices : mentoring, peer assistance, knowledge base, knowledge cafe, lessons learned and storytelling.
